    new

I don't have time for a full blog entry and catch-up this morning, but I just wanted to put something new on the blog.  Not that cutie-pie Komari hasn't been an adorable sight to see over this past, post-free month, but boy do I have stuff to share.  Shortly after my last post, I got the flu, which would have been so much more miserable were it not for the beautiful and warm socks that arrived in my mailbox, thanks to Marlana.  Marlana, they kept my feet warm throughout a week of feverish whining and beyond.  Thank you so much!  I'll post a picture later when I have more time- they are so cheerful- bright red, yellow, dashes of green... and so warm, I wear them all the time.

Those socks aren't the only new things in my life, either.  I entered a new year (ie- I had my birthday... I'm now 27...).  And!  We got a new car!  We've had it for just over a month now, I guess.  I am slowly getting over the Automobile Trust Issues I have lingering from my last (very used) car... but oh, how I love it!  It is a PT Cruiser- cute and super roomy.  Jacob and I- both tallies- can now drive around without our knees knocking the steering wheel.  What a concept!

Also new... a new job.  It was time to look for something different, and I was lucky enough to have a great opportunity come my way.  My last day at Knit Cafe was about 2 weeks ago.  I am now working at a job that I will never mention the name of, because it has nothing to do with knitting.  I am really, really enjoying myself, though.  Tomorrow I am heading off on a business trip to Connecticut.  I have never been to New England before (unless Manhattan counts as New England...?) and I hear that it is stunning this time of year.  Being from California, and especially having lived in LA for so long, I'll be easy to please on the fall foliage front.  Show me one yellowing leaf, and I'll be so excited I'll blog the darn thing.  Looking forward to all that plane knitting time...

New knitting?  Oh, yes.  New designs?  Why, yes!  Stay tuned... I spent a last weekend organizing my yarn... every single WIP and little leftover ball.  Every WIP that has been lingering for no good reason has been frogged and is now back in its' original yarny state.  I've been working on two sweaters, at least one of which will be a design that I post here.  A blanket is nearly finished... heck, I'll post that design, too.  Why not?

Thanks to everyone who has continued to stop by and read...

Hey stranger! Welcome back, however briefly, to the blog-o-sphere!

Congrats on the new job! Whatever it is! We spend too many hours of our day working not to enjoy whatever it is we do!

Tried sending you an e-mail but I don't know if I have the right address. I'm so happy to read that your new job is going well -- a business trip!! it sounds exciting!

P.S. I recently finished my blue sweater and I love how it turned out!

Yay! I'm glad to see you posting! I'm off to SF and DC Wednesday morning, so I probably won't see you until I get back in December, but I'll watch for you here. Miss you! xox, J

Glad to see you back! Congrats on the new job. Change is good, especially in the Fall. And you will like New England. It's very different from the LA desert.

I'm sorry to hear you won't be at Knit Cafe anymore. I was so impressed you remembered seeing me--and what I had been knitting--only the second time I visited some weeks after my first visit.

All the best in your new job. I'm sure your enthusiasm will take you far!
