    imperfections, and a fix

    red pen

Imperfections:  freckled skin, no makeup, flyaway hair.  Poor vision, getting worse every year, especially in the right eye, which I suspect is developing a squint.  A nose I never liked before I got it pierced.  Day after day spent with a red pen in hand, ready to catch imperfect spacing, spelling, formatting, grammar.  Bright marks on paper; imperfections I can fix.

More imperfections can be found this October at Self Portrait Challenge.

Hooray for the nose ring!!! I have one just like it and I *heart* my nose ring... but the hubby hates it so I don't wear it much anymore.

I know that this is an exercise and that I don't have to say anything silly to help your self-esteem because you are confident and capable, but this post still makes me sad. All the things you mentioned (except flyaway hair - do you have flyaway hair? I didn't notice) are things that make you uniquely you and Mary Heather to me. The nose, the glasses, the freckles, all of it.

My imperfection? I couldn't do this exercise properly. I am too vain. I can look goofy or silly on the blog, but I can't showcase the things I don't like. I can't show a cankle or a double chin. Even after writing it, I couldn't do it, because when I write it, no one believes that it is true, but when I photograph it, it's there.

I agree with Julia - I think it's our imperfections that makes us...us. Don't get me wrong, my own physical flaws bother me, a lot, but I guess we tend to be more self critical and see more imperfections in ourselves than others may see...so really, maybe that's a good thing? ;)

I love this photo. It looks like your mind is a million miles away from whatever is on your desk. And your nose ring rocks!

I really like this photo alot. You may see all the imperfections when you look at it, but that's not what I see. I immediately saw a beautiful photo, nice lighting, interesting subject. Yep...that's what I see.

Imperfections only through your eyes. I don't know what you're talking about! I on the other hand could have a field day with myself.

love the reflections in the glass ... and the red pen ... and the upward eyes that indicate you are thinking of *something else*
